PFAS are also used in pharmaceutical PMMA beads in animal tests and veterinary medicine developments meant for human adoption. The use of these synthetic polymers in micro and nanostructures usually requires surgical removal of the substance. Sometimes the surgical procedure to open and place the substance, close and let it work for weeks, and reopen it is repeated in animal tests. This isn't a simple one-time surgery or test. It is repeated surgery.
PLGA Poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) ALTERNATIVE to PMMA:
Other parallel animal tests of PMMA beads indicate that PLGA beads are a biodegradable alternative to avoid invasive repeat surgery to remove the toxic PMMA beads.

The above test indicates that coated PMMA beads were surgically implanted and also later removed inside a 2 month period. This leaves the pigs and rabbits with poisoning symptoms and sterility was noted in the pigs. Is this repeat surgery and intentional poisoning humane?
Bio-Toxic Graphene in Animal tests
Graphene is another toxic topic that is used in both nanotech polymers for biological tissue scaffolding and localized cell destruction for cancer application. In a 2020 equine veterinary test, graphenes cytotoxicity was still cited as being too toxic for human tests.
